I have translated poetry from German to English by German spoken word artists Bas Böttcher, Julian Heun, Sulaiman Masomi, and Michel Abdollahi. The translations were available, and some of them read, at City Lights Bookstore as part of Other Words: San Francisco International Poetry Festival and Lit Crawl SF.

In 2009, the bi-annual literary magazine of the John Hopkins University Press decided to publish a couple of poems I translated for Bas Böttcher. The fall issue of Sirena is dedicated to Günter Kunert, a former East German poet. The issue also includes poems by Ingeborg Bachmann and, one of my favorites, Sarah Kirsch. Herta Müller, the 2009 nobel prize winner for literature, submitted some of her work as well, last minute, but, alas!
